2008 Presidential Nashville Debate Day Info

It's not often that Music City USA gets national attention and even less likely to host a presidental debate. So here is some info from local sources that might help you navigate around all the comotion.

Road Closeures Tuesday Oct. 7:

Belmont/Hillsboro area on the day of the debate 4 p.m. until midnight:

  • Belmont Boulevard from Compton Avenue to 18th Avenue South;
  • Bernard Avenue from 15th Avenue South to Belmont Boulevard;
  • Acklen Avenue from 18th Avenue South to the entrance of the Fidelity Hall parking lot;
  • 15th Avenue South from Compton Avenue to Wedgewood Avenue;
  • Acklen Avenue from East Belmont Circle to 15th Avenue South will be closed from 4 p.m. Monday through 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Food and Caffeine

If your looking for a coffee shop that's easy in and out I highly recommend Edgehill Studios Cafe (Map). It's a few blocks from Belmont and reasonable prices.

Other places for food are in Hillsboro Village which is on 21st Ave between Aklin and Wedgewood. (Map) Thats about 4 blocks from Belmont.
