Brian Ritchey: If I Were a Painter to be released Friday, 8/29/08

Tomorrow night at the Basement, Brian Ritchey (MySpace) will unveil his new album, If I Were a Painter in a dual release show with recent LA transplants the Ettes (also on the bill: Pale Blue Dot [MySpace]).

Fans of Ritchey have been waiting a while for this album and it was worth every second. From the first track, the very rocking "Which Way is Hell", this record evokes emotions ranging from hope and love to loneliness and anger. My personal favorite track is "No One Knows Lonely" which features Jordan Caress (who also joins Ritchey in Korean is Asian, a folk project that has created a fast buzz).

The record features some of Nashville's finest...the uber talented Jordan Caress on bass and vocals, Dave Coleman (of Coal Men fame) and Stanton Adcock on guitars, Justin Schipper (Kyte) on slide and pedal steel, Dave Ray (the Coal Men) on drums and Josiah Holland (the Lonely Hearts) on organ and accordion.

To get your mitts on "If I Were a Painter", come out to the Basement tomorrow night at 9:30 p.m.
